Kindle Fire Review

Kindle Fire Review
Lets take a look at the features of Kindle Fire and judge if it will challenge the apple I pad 2 or the Galaxy Tab.In launching the Kindle Fire, the big headline for Amazon was the tablets impressively affordable $199 price tag.
The new Kindle Fire is a Kindle tablet with a color touch screen for web, movies, music, apps, games, reading & more. The Kindle Fire has a new browser that Amazon has developed called Silk. It's been specially designed for the tablet, and it's meant to speed up Web page downloads by learning your behavior and cacheing content it thinks you'll request ahead of time.
The Kindle Fire has a healthy helping of the most popular games available including Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja and other Amazon apps and games.

Storage
On-device Storage is 8GB internal (approximately 6GB available for user content) which translates to enough for 80 apps, plus 10 movies or 800 songs or 6,000 books. A major advantage is the free cloud storage for all Amazon content.
 Battery Life
The all important battery Life is listed at up to 8 hours of continuous reading or 7.5 hours of video playback, with wireless off. Battery life will vary based on wireless usage, such as web browsing and downloading content. The device fully charges in approximately 4 hours via included U.S. power adapter and also supports charging from your computer via USB.
Wi-Fi Connectivity
Wi-Fi is supported on public and private Wi-Fi networks or hot spots that use 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, or enterprise networks with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using password authentication, however it does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.
USB Port
The kindle fire comes with a USB 2.0 (micro-B connector)Audio3.5 mm stereo audio jack, top-mounted stereo speakers. Supported Content Formats include (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively, Audible (Audible Enhanced (AA, AAX)), DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, non-DRM AAC, MP3, MIDI, OGG, WAV, MP4, VP8.

Aside from the cost savings, limiting the Kindle Fire to 8GB is actually part of Amazon’s strategy to get you to use its cloud-based Web services, which include e-books, MP3 audio, Netflix-like video streaming (Prime members can stream thousands of videos at no extra charge). Using Amazon’s Whispersync wireless syncing technology, you’re supposed to move content on and off the device. (For instance, you can own dozens-or hundreds, or thousands-of books, but you only need to have a handful on the device at any given time.) Oh, and while you’re at it, maybe you’ll do a little shopping on Amazon, too (as Amazon says, the Fire has no system requirements, “because it’s wireless and doesn’t require a computer,” which is an appealing trait, especially to technophobes).
The Kindle Fire is built on Google's Android operating system. And Amazon said that it will offer many Android apps for the Kindle Fire. But it won't offer them all. Your Fire will have immediate access to the 18 million movies, TV shows, songs, magazines, and books already available on Amazon’s easy-to-browse virtual shelves. The Kindle Fire Amazon Appstore remains open like Android, but only makes available the very best and most popular apps from the open market. The result: More free apps without the hassle, the best of both worlds approach. The new 7-inch Kindle Fire is a lot easier to hold. With only one hand, you can hold it for several hours without fatigue it is lighter lighter than the Apple iPad 2 and a lot more portable.
Lets Review Kindle Fire Pros:
 • 7″ Vibrant Color IPS • 8 hours continuous reading or 7.5 hours
 • video playback.
• 8GB for 80 apps plus either 10 movies or 800 songs
• or 6,000 book.
• Light Weight at 14.6 ounces
 • multi-touch
Now lets Review Shortcomings of the Kindle Fire:
 • Limited 8GB of storage, with only 6GB usable.
• No expansion slot.
• No camera or GPS
• This is all a great business strategy and makes a lot of sense. Amazon cuts you a break on Of course, that kind of thinking  isn’t for everyone. As one CNET reader said, “I don’t do the cloud,” and if you’re someone who likes to store a lot of content on your device (including several movies) and don’t have ready access to a Wi-Fi connection, the 8GB of memory will seem very limiting.
